Minimal art and maximum comfort
On the border of the dense built Old Town, a 2-storey pure building body optimizes space organization in terms of functional operation, natural lighting and ventilation.
Dynamic comfort and energy simulations supported the design. On the street front a pitched roof was required, while the west roof design was born as a result of multiple variants containing a flat sloped and a ventilating tapered chimney.
The street-facing façade and roof have consistently been covered with a homogeneous metal cladding with a discreet, elegant appearance - creating a 'protective' effect on private spaces.
The garden-facing facade is fully glazed and shaded, ensuring a kind of 'winter garden' function for the ground-floor living-kitchen-dining area. Above the living room, a generous gallery also facilitates natural ventilation in combination with the chimney designed from aerodynamic concepts. The aero-chimney improves visual comfort in the centre area as well.
