Folded world of forms – Klímacentrum office building

In District III of Budapest, a house stands with large glazed openings and interesting forms near an area with a block of flats and the ruins of a small Roman coliseum. Architects Tibor Dékány, Sándor Finta, Ádám Hatvani and Orsolya Vadász added an extant house within the new structure – creating unity with clear enlargements. Salesrooms and storage with service areas were arranged in the two buildings. On the first floor, a spacious exhibition hall was placed with red walls and large glazing. Mostly covered with a green roof, the volume was characterized by plastered surfaces and emptied-out, structure-like forms. Running along the front of the house an unusual fence was created by sculptor Dia Harcsa, using reinforcement rods.
