Among superheroes - Skyscanner Budapest

There are more and more offices in our world that fit to the needs and help Millennials to get a better workplace. The modern, yet unique Skyscanner's office in the heart of Budapest was designed by MadiLancos Studio with the help of an inhouse team.

The Budapest office is Skyscanner’s app development hub, home to iOS and Android developers, designers, researchers and product managers all focused on mobile at their core. They moved to K6 building in 2014 but the workers decided to give the place a fresh design to make it more like them.

They approached a redesign of their new larger office with the help and needs of the company's workers. The team had tons of ideas to make it a better place: herb garden, a huge live plant wall, Lego walls, quirky furniture and enormous paintings of Superheroes.

Product localisation is an imperative, and so too in office design. There're Hungarian designer lamps hanging in the meeting rooms and above the lunch tables, and a big puzzle map of Budapest on meeting room tables. Built-in furniture was custom-made locally too, while a competition across Budapest-based staff resulted in an incredible 800 pixel, 13.5m wall mural.

The team isn't consist of the typical 'stay-at your desk' people, so Áron Láncos and Krisztina Sárosdi-Mádi incorporated grassy areas, cocoons, beanbags and sofas, as well as chill-out rooms in their design to ensure collaboration and creativity is easy.
